The PSAC/UTE bargaining team met with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) on December 3-6 to continue negotiations for a new collective agreement. While there was considerable discussion on several matters of concern to our members, Agency representatives did not respond with meaningful counterproposals.
Today, I would like to give you an update on a topic that is particularly close to your heart, namely your contract, your collective agreement!
Our bargaining team will resume talks with CRA’s team from December 3rd to 6th, 2018.
As you can imagine from our latest messages, negotiations are not going as quickly and smoothly as we would like. In fact, negotiations are hardly making any progress! This situation is totally unacceptable!
Our Bargaining Team reiterated the key concerns of members that need to be addressed in this round of negotiations.
Our PSAC/UTE Bargaining Team met with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) on September 11-13 to continue negotiations for a new collective agreement. While some matters were resolved with respect to leave without pay and leave for staffing processes, the CRA spent considerable time focusing on employer proposals.
Our Bargaining Team makes clear our objectives for this round of negotiations.
Our PSAC/UTE Bargaining Team met with the CRA on June 20th and 21st to commence negotiations for a new collective agreement. Our Team made clear to the agency that, while the union is ready to negotiate in good faith, we are not interested in steps backwards for our members and are looking to achieve improvements in this round of bargaining.

Our negotiating team is in place. Our first dates are set.
Earlier this year members of the UTE Collective Bargaining Committee reviewed bargaining proposals submitted by locals and members throughout Canada. With the Negotiating Team now in place and dates set for the Negotiating Team to meet with our PSAC Negotiator and finalize our demands, our union proposed dates to commence bargaining in May (next month).
The wage dispute between the CRA and the PSAC-UTE has finally been put to an end following a Bindfing Conciliation Board decision reached March 14, 2018.
On January 31st, 2018 our PSAC/UTE Bargaining Team presented our case before the Conciliation Board at the Federal Public Service Labour Relations Board and Employment Board on the wage dispute with the CRA for wage increases for the years 2014-2015 and 2015-2016.

On Tuesday October 24, the Executive Committee did proceed to the final stage of the creation of the National Bargaining Committee, by appointing the last five (5) members to join the committee, namely;
Parties unable to agree on arbitrator – Labour Board assigns one for our dispute.
In May our PSAC/UTE Bargaining Team met with the CRA to discuss wage increases for 2014 and 2015, consistent with our collective agreement signed last year. Because we were unable to reach an agreement over the two days we therefore proceeded to next step under our contract and the law – to discuss and agree upon an arbitration process.
