Bargaining Update

Since our last update on April 2nd, we have been getting some enquiries from the membership on why we have not released any details or information about what the employer has offered, if anything.

During negotiations, it is normal practise not to release details of what has been exchanged in the way of proposals etc., especially since most is done on a without-prejudice basis.  At this time, both parties have agreed not to release any details.

During this last mediation session, there was some movement on the issues but we are not at liberty to disclose any details at this time.

The next dates for mediation are scheduled for May 20th and 21st.  These dates were selected based on the availability of all the parties, CRA/PSAC-UTE bargaining teams and the mediator.

Your team continues to work hard to reach a tentative agreement under very difficult circumstances.  We understand it can be very frustrating for the members, as it is very frustrating for the team as well.  Please be assured details will be released at the appropriate time.

The bargaining team is very appreciative of the support the membership has shown during this round of bargaining.  It gives the team renewed energy and resolve to negotiate the best collective agreement we can for the membership.

We have more activities planned that begin on April 29th. Your support for these activities will send a strong message once again to the CRA/TB that the members support the PSAC/UTE team. Please contact a member of your Local Executive for more information.
