Actions against CRA imposed increase of onsite presence

Hello Sisters, Brothers and Friends,

Today, September 9, 2024, the new and updated Direction on prescribed presence in the Workplace comes into effect. Some of you will now see an increase in the number of days you are required to work on-site, while others return to the office for the first time in several years of full-time teleworking.

Joint Consultation Committee - Review of the Directive on Virtual Work Arrangements

Update on the Joint Consultation Committee between the CRA and UTE on the review of the Directive on Virtual Work Arrangements

Sisters, Brothers and Friends,

As you probably know, during the last round of collective bargaining and after taking strike action, the Union of Taxation Employees (UTE)  and the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) entered into a Letter of Agreement that called for the creation of a Joint Consultation Committee to examine and make recommendations with respect to Virtual Work Arrangements and Remote Work.

Effective on that date all provisions contained in the newly negotiated contract came into effect.

Remote work campaign and Labour Day Parades

Hello Sisters, Brother and Friends,

As you may be aware, Labour Day Parades are being organized and held throughout the country every year. The Labour Day Parades are being held this year on Monday September 2, 2024. The Union of Taxation Employees, along with our colleagues in other Components and Directly Chartered Locals of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) will be participating in these parades and strive to have a strong visible presence.

Three days at the office: a decision that will not go down well

Sisters, Brothers and Friends,

Yesterday, the federal government announced, in a cavalier manner and without any consultation with the unions, that starting September 9, 2024, federal public service workers will henceforth be required to report to the office for a minimum of three days a week.

Three days at the office: write to your MP

Sisters, Brothers and Friends,

By now you should be aware that the employer will be asking all the employees to report to the office 3 days a week in September of 2024. This decision was taken without consultation with your union.

PSAC and other bargaining agents (PIPSC and CAPE) have launched actions and UTE fully supports these campaigns.

We know some of you have already completed the form below, but if you have not, we are encouraging you to send a letter to your MP and the President of Treasury Board using this PSAC link to make sure your voice is heard!
