Even though the committee hasn’t formally met, we have been busy reviewing job descriptions received from the employer. On October 5th, Henri Vodon (LRO), Kim Koch (Co Chair) and myself (Chair) were able to have a meet and greet with the management liaison person in charge of Staffing. On October 10th the whole committee received several hours of training for the purposes of reviewing job descriptions and will have another 2-hour session on December 12th. We are trying to secure more training from the employer. Lastly, on November 8th the committee was able to have another meet and greet with management as part of the joint union/management SPA committee.
We are looking at arranging a meeting with the employer in the new year, and as well we are looking at giving this committee a re-charge and hope to go to our locals with an email looking for information and re-establishing a local “liaison” resource/contact person.
