Minutes of the Communications Committee Meeting

The Committee met in Ottawa at the National UTE Office from August 13 – 15, 2012.  All members were in attendance: Sabri Khayat, Barry Melanson, Shane O’Brien, Susan Duncan and the Chair of the Committee, Lorne Roslinski.

The Committee prepared the September 2012 Union News for publication.

Agenda items:

• The Chair thanked the members for all their hard work, contributions and the respect given to each other.
• Terms of Reference: The Chair submitted a draft for the members to review and make suggestions by the end of September, for review at our next meeting.
• Subject to approval from the National President, the next meeting with be November 4 – 7, 2012 in Ottawa. 

Round table discussion:

• Discussed the website and its future direction;
• Having difficulty soliciting relevant and timely articles and would like RVPs to discuss the issue in their regional caucuses.  We are looking for meaningful articles that would be of interest to our members.
