The committee met May 7 & 8, 2012 to prepare for the upcoming National H&S Conference that will be held in October 2012.
The questionnaire, to be responded to by all Work Place Health and Safety Committees (WPHSC), and covering memo were reviewed prior to being sent out to the locals.
The Regional Vice-Presidents were asked to follow up with their locals to ensure that the questionnaire is responded to by the due date, May 25, 2012, as it was imperative that the committee hear from all WPHSCs in order to have the information required to prepare for National Conference.
Minutes will be posted on the UTE web site when completed.
I also would like to take this opportunity to thank the past chair of the H&S committee, Brother Chris Aylward. He demonstrated complete dedication and extreme commitment to all Health and Safety issues to ensure that our members would be safe at work.
He will be greatly missed by all of us but especially by me, as I know I will never be able to fill his shoes but I am looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that come with being the chair of this very important committee.
