The committee meet on Oct 29-30, 2018 in Ottawa. In attendance were Cosimo Crupi (Chair), Gary Esslinger (Co-Chair), Ken Bye (Co-Chair), Gesine Campbell (President’s Representative) along with Louise Dorion (Technical Advisor).
The committee reviewed all applications received for the ICA awards and selected Sister Monica Chow Local 70000 as this year’s member recipient. There was no student selected this year, as the committee received no valid applications.
The committee reviewed Regulation 24.11 ICA SPONSORSHIP AND SUBSIDY, and proposes 3 recommendations (See below).
The committee also finalized the Internal Scoring Template for scholarships, updated the internal paper format, and on-line form for applicant’s regarding the Scholarship Application.

24.11.4 Annual Donations and Donation Reminder
(2) If in a given year, no student is selected to go to Africa with ICA, UTE will donate an additional five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) to ICA. additional applicant(s) may be considered the following year(s). No more than 3 students will be selected during any 3-year budget cycle.

(3) If in a given year, no member is selected to go to Africa with ICA, UTE will donate an additional two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500.00) to ICA. additional applicant(s) may be considered the following year(s). No more than 3 members will be selected during any 3-year budget cycle.

(4) UTE will annually remind its membership to consider a donation to ICA as part of the annual Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign (GCWCC) Canada Revenue Agency Charitable Campaign (CRACC). Registration # 887858660RR0001.
