WHY FIGHT TO SAVE YOUR SEVERANCE PAY????

In 1969, my annual income was approximately $5,000.00. YES $5,000.00 per year
which represented approximately $420 dollars a month.
In the 70's & 80's - PSAC negotiated a monetary benefit which was entitled
 SEVERANCE PAY
WEEKS OF SALARY WHICH ACCUMULATED WITH YEARS, IN ANTICIPATION OF
RETIREMENT

In 2004, I retired after (35) years of service with (70%) of $59,628.00 annual wage salary + (30) weeks of severance pay
in the amount of: $35,601.01
A BENEFIT THAT ALMOST EVERY PSAC MEMBER HAS
LOST TODAY EXCEPT  (UTE)  MEMBERS
ONLY WORKERS OF THE
UNION OF TAXATION EMPLOYEES
STILL HAVE THIS CLAUSE IN THEIR COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT

NOW THE EMPLOYER WANTS TO WITHDRAW
THIS (BENEFIT) CLAUSE FROM YOUR COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT
AFTER (41) MONTHS OF NEGOTIATIONS
SHAMEFUL - SHOCKING

IMAGINE YOUR SALARY IN (5) - (10) - (15) YEARS FROM NOW
EVALUATE THE AMOUT OF YOUR INVESMENT AT YOUR RETIREMENT
IT IS ENORMOUS

BY ACCEPTING THIS OFFER FROM YOUR EMPLOYER YOU LOSE
FOREVER
THIS GIGANTIC BENEFIT
THE ANSWER IS:  NO THANK YOU
