Ongoing Bargaining Demand Process

Sisters and Brothers,

Believe it or not, our contract is going to expire soon. It sounds crazy, but we can’t argue with the calendar.

As in past rounds, we have what we refer to as an ongoing demand process.  Basically, we collect demands at any point during the year and any point of the contract, to be considered for the following round of talks.

Obviously, we are in a new world of work, one we would have never thought we would see.  But the people who see the daily issues are those working in this environment day in and day out.  You, the membership won us the last agreement and its benefits and pay.  Now we must consider what the current issues are to improve that contract even further.  We would love to hear from you on proposals going into the next round.

If you have any problems that you have identified and possible solutions that you believe would be a good bargaining demand, please do not hesitate to use the form at https://www.ute-sei.org/en/bargaining (the form and an example are at the top of the page) and submit it to your local so that they may forward it on for our files.

Our local engagement in soliciting demands shows that it is the membership that drives change.  It is what makes UTE stand out the best.

Keep up the good work and let us know your ideas!

Adam Jackson
2nd National Vice President (Bargaining)
