Life Member, Allan Robert (BOB) Campbell

Brother Campbell was awarded Life Membership in 2004.

Robert (Bob) Campbell was involved in our union for 42 years. He began his union career in 1974 as a steward in Local 60005 in Saint John, N.B. He was then successively elected Chief Steward, Secretary, Treasurer and President of the same Local.

In 1990, he was elected as Alternate Regional Vice-President for the Atlantic Region.

From 1993 to 1999, Brother Campbell was Regional Vice-President for the Atlantic Region.

He was elected 1st National Vice-President of our union in 1999 and was re-elected to this position until 2011.

Finally, Brother Campbell was elected National President of the Union of Taxation Employees (UTE) in 2011 and re-elected in 2014.

He has attended a multitude of UTE, PSAC, CLC conventions and has been chair or co-chair of several UTE national committees.

He retired in 2017 following the Triennial Convention held in Ottawa.

Bob was a friend, mentor and undisputed leader to countless people within our great union but also to many others within the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC).

Robert (Bob) Campbell passed away on November 10, 2019.

His departure represents a great loss.
