Life Member, Allan Robert (BOB) Campbell

Brother Campbell was awarded Life Membership in 2004.

Bob Campbell was born on November 17, 1955 in Saint John, NB and has resided in Ottawa since 2005. Bob was a long-time single parent of 2 daughters and 9 grand-children until he met the love of his life, Gesine, in 2005 and they married in 2009. The family got bigger. Family is very important to Bob, so when you see a twinkle in his eye and a warm smile on his face, you can probably thank Gesine and his family for that.

Bob has been a union activist for more than 40 years. He began his Union career in 1974 as a Steward in the Saint John Local.  Bob held the positions of Chief Steward, Secretary, Treasurer, through to 1984 when he was first elected Local President.

In 1990 Bob became the Atlantic Region’s Alternate RVP and from 1993 to 1999 represented the Atlantic Caucus, nationally as the RVP. 

Bob was elected to the position of 1st National Vice President at the 1999 Quebec Convention and was re-elected in 2002, 2005 and 2008.

Bob is currently the National President of UTE, having been elected at the 2011 Montreal Convention.

Bob has participated in 11 UTE Conventions, 8 PSAC Conventions, 7 CLC Conventions; extensive union training; has been Chair, co chair and member of many committees. He has sat on The Board of Directors of the Canadian Appraisal Institute of Canada, The Harbour View Credit Union, The Government Employees Credit Union, and the Westvale Park Home Owners Association.
