Report of the Ad-Hoc UMA/Conflict Resolution Committee

Report of the Ad-Hoc UMA/Conflict Resolution Committee
December 2012

Sabri Khayat

The Union-Management Approach (UMA) National Steering Committee met in Ottawa on the 24 and the 25 of October 2012.

During this meeting we discussed the following issues:

UMA Website: UMA used to be hosted in a Infozone sub-folder under the banner of Conflict Resolution. From now on, the UMA will have its own Website, which has its own logo.

UMA Foundation Training: We have approved the content of the new UMA Foundation Training. A communication will be sent to all UMA Regional Committees to announce the launch of the new product, and specify instructions for its use (a copy of the draft of this email is included at the end of this report).

We also decided to share with all the Locals, the Manager’s Guidelines for Union-Management Consultation and the MANAGER’S CHECKLIST – UNION CONSULTATION PROCESS.

These documents will be sent to our Locals and our Executive Council as soon as the e-mail, mentioned above, will be sent to the CRA Managers.

The National Committee on the Conflict Resolution met on October 25th, 2012. During this meeting, we discussed the creation of the new Website of the Conflict Resolution (see above).

The Committee would like to remind you the importance of the current delivery model of the course CRC-01, for UTE’s members, who has to be always given jointly with the participation of UTE’s representatives.

The next Committees meeting will take place from 8 to 10 April 2013.

Respectfully submitted,
Sabri Khayat
