UPDATE FROM OUR MEETING HELD MARCH 2, 2012

  • Costing for the Conferences:

    • Doug submitted a motion to Executive Council to decrease the airfare from 1.5 X Latitude to 2 X Tango Plus; the motion was passed; consequently, our costing has increase and the extra funds will aid in the hiring of guest speakers and facilitators.

  • Hotel reservations

    • Doug reviewed the hotel contracts to validate they meet our specific requirements. No issues with the contracts.

  • The Committee outlined the agenda for the Conferences (see attached appendix)

  • The Committee, via Erik, will solicit the assistance of the Canadian Mental Health Association and the National EAP Office for facilitators for two (2) of the workshops.

  • Erik will facilitate one (1) of the workshops related to the duty to accommodate and the return to work.

  • The themes chosen for the three (3) workshops:

    • Assisting Workers with Mental Health Issues and ;

    • Awareness of Workplace Mental Health and;

    • The Duty to Accommodate and the Return to Work.

  • Guest speakers were chosen for Friday morning:

    • Mr. Bill Jones, Mr. Peter Estey and Senator Michael Kirby (validation of their availability / interest will follow).

    • The Committee will research one (1) educational speaker and one (1) motivational speaker for Sunday morning.
