It has been a tough few days for UTE.
Over the weekend we found out that John Drozd, past Local President for the Montreal Local, passed away. John was a long-time activist and well respected both locally and within his region.
We just learned that Sabri Khayat, Regional Vice-President for the Montreal Region has passed as well. Sabri had recently been conferred the Life Member Award, the highest award in UTE. Sabri had been active in our union for the past 24 years.
Both Brothers will be sorely missed by all.
