Today, anti-2SLGBTQIA+ rallies are taking place in several locations across the country. These demonstrations are being organized by "1MillionMarch4Children".
The Union of Taxation Employees (UTE) wishes to speak out strongly against these demonstrations and the increase in hate speech in recent months. No one should feel at risk because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
UTE members including the UTE National President, 1st Vice-president, 2nd Vice-president, the ten Regional Vice-presidents and several alternate RVPs participated in the counter-protest march this morning in front of Parliament Hill in Ottawa.
As a union, we have a duty to support social causes and to defend Human rights. UTE would like to renew its support for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
