Some of the benefits of being a PSAC/UTE member
Public Service Alliance of Canada members get real value for their union dues. When you sign a PSAC membership card you’ve got one of the country’s largest public sector unions backing you up. To give you even more for your money, the PSAC has negotiated special discounts with outside suppliers.
PSAC Scholarship Program
The program consists of 14 scholarships for dependant children of PSAC members and three scholarships for PSAC members who are returning to university, college or a recognized institute of higher learning on a full-time basis.
The Union of Taxation Employees (UTE) each year offers two (2) two thousand five hundred dollars ($3,000.00) National Scholarships, one of which has been named the Diana Gee Scholarship and ten (10) one thousand dollars ($1,500.00) Regional Scholarships (Al Rollins Atlantic Regional Scholarship, Quebec, Jean Bergeron Montreal Regional Scholarship, National Capital, Greater Toronto, Nick Stein Southwestern Ontario Regional Scholarship, Northern and Eastern Ontario, Prairie, Don Davoren Regional Rocky Mountains Scholarship and Pacific).
Long term service and merit awards
The PSAC offers service awards in recognition to its member officers at any level who have continuously, over a period of ten years or more, served the Alliance membership. UTE Locals are empowered to award union service pins of three, five, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years to members who have served the interests of the membership over these periods of time.
The PSAC has an agreement with the Bank of Montreal that provides for improved credit card benefits for its members. PSAC members get a special low 17.5% interest rate and contribute to the PSAC Social Justice Fund.
The UTE also has an agreement with the Bank of Montreal and you can get further details.
