Ref: Convention 2002 Resolutions

I would like to point out that our Convention does not deal with resolutions that are bargaining demands.

For our 1999 Convention, some locals sent in resolutions that were clearly bargaining demands. Some examples are resolutions requesting a pay increase or more vacation or more family related leave. These are bargaining demands which can only be submitted when the PSAC issues a Bargaining Input Call. Any bargaining demands received for our 2002 National will be returned to locals.

The types of resolutions that can be debated during our Convention are those that deal with the bargaining process. Some examples are changes to PSAC Regulation 15 or UTE Regulation covering Collective Bargaining or increases in strike pay.

Please be careful not to send in resolutions which are bargaining demands. They will be returned to locals.

In Solidarity,

Betty Bannon
National President
