Political Action Committee

REPORT OF THE POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE
DECEMBER 2006
Kent MacDonald Item (m)
The Political Action Committee (PAC) met November 2, 2006 with all committee
members present. The committee minutes were circulated by the National
Office November 20th, 2006.
The results of the two federal by-elections held November 27th, 2006 are
as follows:
London North Centre – Glen Pearson (Liberal)
Repentigny – Rev. Raymond Gravel (Bloc Quebecois)
Here is the breakdown of seats in the House of Commons after these by-elections.
Conservatives – 124
Liberals - 102
Bloc Quebecois - 51
NDP - 29
Independent - 2
With the recent passing at second reading of both Bills C-269 (EI Reform)
and C-257 (Anti-Scab) it is important for the locals to contact there Primary
and Secondary MP’s, either to thank them for there support or show
their displeasure. Also it is important to speak to your MP’s so
that these bills pass before the next election, which many people believe
could happen as early as next spring.
Respectfully submitted,
Kent MacDonald
Chair of the Committee
