Our UTE/PSAC bargaining team met with the CRA for three days of talks this week. 

Unfortunately we did not reach an agreement, although we spent considerable time discussing the issues outstanding with the CRA. 

The parties have jointly agreed to reconvene in negotiations from April 25 to 27. Our hope is that we might finally reach an agreement with the Agency at that time.

The PSAC/UTE bargaining team and the CRA have agreed to return to the bargaining table August 8-11 to resume negotiations.‎

Over the coming days and weeks, UTE and PSAC leadership will be discussing potential activities in support of  achieving a fair contract the week of August 8th. ‎

Union leadership will continue to prepare for potential action to be taken should an agreement not be reached by August 11th.

The PSAC/UTE bargaining team met with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) on October 23-25 to continue negotiations for a new collective agreement. While the team raised a number of key issues like job security, scheduling protections, and improving working conditions in call centres, the employer did not move to resolve them.

Job Security

The PSAC/UTE bargaining team met with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) on December 3-6 to continue negotiations for a new collective agreement. While there was considerable discussion on several matters of concern to our members, Agency representatives did not respond with meaningful counterproposals. 

Union wage proposal

PSAC-UTE filed for a Public Interest Commission in January.

At the end of the last bargaining session with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) the PSAC/UTE bargaining team declared impasse and filed for the creation of a Public Interest Commission with the Public Service Labour Relations Board.

Bargaining commenced with the Agency in June of last year. At the outset of negotiations, and in every session since, the union made clear to the CRA the key priorities for this round of negotiations:

CRA fails to respond to union wage proposal and other key concerns; continues to insist on concessions.

The PSAC-Union of Taxation Employees (PSAC-UTE) bargaining team met with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) on January 21-24 to continue negotiations for a new collective agreement.

CRA bargaining: Public Interest Commission (PIC) releases its recommendations

On November 26, 2014 the PSAC received the Public Interest Commission (PIC) recommendations concerning our contract dispute with CRA.  The PIC recommendations are non-binding.  It is intended to guide the parties in negotiations and help provide an avenue for the parties to make progress towards an agreement. 

PSAC-UTE will begin holding strike votes beginning on February 17.

The union have been negotiating in good faith for a new collective agreement with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) since June 2018, but CRA management has consistently refused to address our members’ concerns and has instead insisted on a range of concessions.
