Bargaining Team Spends Week in Talks with CRA

PSAC/UTE Bargaining Team continues push for leave improvements, raises issues concerning health and safety and union communication in the workplace.

This past week (January 28-31) our Bargaining Team spent four days in talks with CRA.  The parties spent the week in negotiations over a number of issues, including leave provisions, access to the collective agreement and union communication in the workplace.

Bargaining underway with CRA

Our PSAC-UTE bargaining team, representing more than 33,000 PSAC-UTE members working at Canada Revenue Agency who rolled out historic aid to Canadians during the pandemic in record time, have now kicked off bargaining with the employer January 11-13.

The federal government relied on PSAC-UTE members to process over 27 million CERB applications over the past two years that provided financial relief to millions of Canadians hit hardest by COVID-19 – and they delivered. Now, our members should be able to rely on this government for a fair deal at the bargaining table.

Bargaining Underway with CRA

Our Bargaining Team makes clear our objectives for this round of negotiations.

Our PSAC/UTE Bargaining Team met with the CRA on June 20th and 21st to commence negotiations for a new collective agreement. Our Team made clear to the agency that, while the union is ready to negotiate in good faith, we are not interested in steps backwards for our members and are looking to achieve improvements in this round of bargaining.

Our Team indicated to the Agency that our objectives include:

Bargaining Update

Sisters and Brothers,

I am pleased to announce that we have secured dates to go back to the bargaining table. The teams will be meeting on March 21, 22 and 23, 2016.

I would like to thank all of our members who have taken the time to show support to the team in many ways such as; the grievance campaign, meeting with and/or writing to your MP, etc. Thanks to your hard work, our campaign to get back to the table has been successful in securing the above noted dates.

A further communication will be coming from PSAC shortly.

In Solidarity;

Bargaining Update

The PSAC and UTE have been pressuring Treasury Board and CRA to get back to the table and negotiate a fair agreement.

Thanks to the Locals who are coming up with innovative ideas to support the Negotiating Team and we encourage others to do the same.  It is only through the members demonstrating their support that we will be able to negotiate a fair agreement.

In Solidarity;

Madonna Z. Gardiner
2nd National Vice President, UTE
Member of the PSAC/UTE Bargaining Team

Bargaining Update

Your PSAC/UTE bargaining team met on February 16th and 17th.  As was indicated in the Feb. 5th update, this meeting was to have discussions to evaluate our position as a bargaining team and determine next steps.  We also discussed future actions to demonstrate support for the team. More information on this will be shared in the coming weeks.

Bargaining Update

There have been no further developments with regard to securing meeting dates between the CRA and PSAC/UTE bargaining teams nor on the meeting our National UTE President has been trying to set up with the president of Treasury Board.  So unfortunately I have no updates on those issues.

It has been decided that the PSAC bargaining team representing UTE members will be scheduling a meeting within the next couple of weeks for the team to reconvene and have discussions.  These discussions are to evaluate our position as a bargaining team and determine next steps.
