The Equal Opportunities committee met January 12-15 and March 2-5, in preparation for three inter-regional conferences to be held in 2015.
The committee discussed themes for the conferences, topics, workshops and speakers.
The proposed dates and sites for the conferences were discussed; all aspects were considered for example, taking into consideration sites used by the finance committee for budget purposes, proximity of locals to the sites so as to minimize travel costs, and conflicting dates with the union calendar. After considerable thought and debate the committee makes the following recommendation:
That the following dates and sites for three inter-regional EO conferences in 2015, be approved by Council:
August 27-30, Toronto – Greater Toronto, Southwestern Ontario, Northern and Eastern Ontario
October 15-18, Montreal- National Capital, Montreal, Quebec, Atlantic
November 19-22, Vancouver – Pacific, Rocky Mountains, Prairies
