Since my last report, the UTE Equal Opportunities Committee met October 2nd to finalize the details for the Western Regions Equal Opportunities Conference to be held in Edmonton, October 17 to 20, 2024.
The Western Regions Conference was a great success, and the committee is very excited for the next two Regionals set for April and May of 2025. Again, I would like to thank the Committee for their commitment and hard work on the Regional Conferences. I am very proud of this committee!
The committee will meet again December 11th to start planning the National Conference to be held in Ottawa October 2025.
October 8th and 9th I attended the ln- Person NEEDIC meeting, in Ottawa. The agenda was full, and topics discussed were very timely and beneficial:
- Diversity & Inclusion Updates:
- The Agency People Strategy update
- The EEDI Action Plan
- Indigenous Employee Network Update:
- Truth & Reconciliation CRA Action Plan
- National Indigenous Recruitment Initiative
The next meeting will be a virtual meeting and is tentatively set for early in the new year.
Respectfully submitted,
Kimberley Koch
Chair of the Committee
