Tactical Accounting Team (TAT) Pilot

The Tactical Accounting Team (TAT) Pilot was established in order to better service  large, complex businesses that have many Business accounts for example over 500 accounts.  The Team will be staffed with 15 SP’s.

My Account for Individuals

In February 2012, changes were introduced in the Benefits sub-application, under change my Martial Status and Child and Family Benefits.  Additional changes were planned for May 2012 including access to the Ontario Trillium Benefit and the New Brunswick school supplement.

My Business Account

There are several Changes to My Business account portal which are based on its increase use.  Recent updates to the portal included: My Enquiries, a service which allows a taxpayer to submit questions about assessments and receives a written response; Change of Address functionality; Message Centre, an electronic substitute for paper mail-outs and File a Rebate, which enables businesses to file a GST rebate electronically.

Taxfiler Representative Information System Modernization

T1013 will be submitted electronically and those employees that use to process T1013 will now monitor these forms as they are placed on accounts.  The Agency is reviewing other forms for electronic submissions.

Secure Online Services

The Agency completed a Transaction Service Audit in 2008.  The results from that have lead the Assessment and Benefit services branch to developing new ways to do CRA online services.  The committee was provided with a presentation on Secure Online Services (SOLS) and how it will be rolled out.  In future meetings we will discuss e-Documents, e-Delivery, and e-Payments.  This will replace My Account as more features are rolled out.

T1 System Redesign

The T1 system redesign will be aligned with Secure online Services (SOLS) and it will be built on the same platform.  This is part of the Business Transformation Directorate Assessment and Benefit Branch.  This project is only initial stage so unable to discuss HR impacts.  We will be further briefed at upcoming meetings when the Agency will provide UTE with a presentation.

Trust Examination Software System

As discussed at previous committee meetings the Trust Exam program TEAS is being replaced with a new program called Trust Accounts Compliance Tool.  The system will be tested in September and should be rolled out in the field in April 2013.  The new system is windows based and will have the advantage of being linked to other systems.

Above are the latest new initiatives that were provided to our committee.

I submit this as my Presidents report and complete minutes will follow once completed by the Agency.
