The National Health and Safety Conference for all the regions will be held in Ottawa.

THEME: “Our Rights, Our Roles, Our Responsibilities”
“It’s Our Business”

OBJECTIVES:

  • To provide an in dept knowledge on prevalent health and safety issues
  • To apprise the participants on the major health and safety issues, campaigns and challenges being addressed by the PSAC, CLC and CRA
  • To provide the participants an opportunity to interact with specialists in the field of occupational health and safety
  • To reaffirm our commitment to health and safety in the workplace

The target audience for the National Conference is members of local Health and Safety workplace committees. It will be an interactive conference where participants will be encouraged to fully participate by asking questions in plenary and in workshops.

WORKSHOPS:

In addition to panel discussions and speakers, we will offer four (4) different workshops. Each participant will have an opportunity to attend two workshops.

FUNDING:

UTE will pay for one member from each workplace health and safety committee.
Please consult the list attached.

Per diem: 4 days (cheques sent directly to the participants)
Hotel: Paid directly by UTE
Family Care: Allowance is available (see UTE Regulation 17 for details.)
Loss of wages: As applicable
Travel: Cheques will be sent directly to the local (1 X travel)

NOTE: Locals may send additional participants at their own expense.

SCENT FREE: We request that all participants refrain from using scented shampoos, deodorants, soaps, perfumes, aftershaves etc. This is for the comfort and safety of all participants.

SMOKE FREE: Please note that the hospitality suite will be non-smoking.
