Re: Review of Services Provided by Health Canada

Following a recent review conducted on the services it provides, Health Canada has decided to discontinue the provision of all health services to separate operating agencies, including the CRA, effective June 30, 2009.

The CRA was successful in negotiating an extension for the provision of health evaluations and immunizations until the end of March 2010.

It is important to note that the provision of Superannuation services to the CRA (e.g. medical retirement and pension buy-back) will continue to be provided by Health Canada, as it is considered to be the authority for these issues.

The National Health and Safety Policy Committee is working to develop options for solutions for the provision of all health services.

In the interim, regions will follow local contracting procedures for obtaining ergonomics and workplace investigation services from local providers.
