The National Health and Safety Conference for all the regions will be held in Ottawa.

NOTE: Participants must remain at the conference until noon, Sunday October 24th.

THEME:  “A Balanced Approach to Health and Safety”



OBJECTIVES:

To provide the participants with the tools to be effective workplace committee members

  • By providing information on current health and safety issues
  • By providing a more global approach to Health and Safety

Participants to the National Conference, funded by UTE, must be a member of their local Health and Safety workplace committee.  It will be an interactive conference where participants will be encouraged to fully participate.

WORKSHOPS:

In addition to speakers, we will offer four (4) different workshops. Each participant will have an opportunity to attend three (3) workshops.

FUNDING:

UTE will pay for one member from each workplace health and safety committee or Health and Safety Representative as defined in the Code.
 
Please consult the list attached.

Per diem: 4 days (cheques sent directly to the participants)
Hotel: Paid directly by UTE
Family Care:  Allowance is available (see UTE Regulation 17 for details.)
Loss of wages: As applicable
Travel:  Cheques will be sent directly to the local

NOTE:  Locals may send additional participants at their own expense.

SCENT FREE:
Participants shall refrain from using scented shampoos, deodorants, soaps, perfumes, aftershaves etc during all activities related to the conference.

Copies of the agenda will follow.  Please answer all the questions on the application form and indicate your order of preference for the different workshops.
