The Union of Taxation Employees (the UTE) is soliciting equity group members to represent the five (5) equity groups currently on the National Equal Opportunities Committee. We are seeking to satisfy five (5) positions for members representing the following groups: Women, Aboriginal Peoples, Gays, Lesbians, Bisexual, Transgendered (GLBT), Persons with Disabilities and Racially Visible Members. In addition, we will be selecting two (2) alternates for each of the aforementioned positions.
The length of each position is for a duration of two (2) consecutive years. The duties, responsibilities and obligations of the Committee members are outlined in the Committee’s Terms of Reference, available online via

If you are aware of a member or members in your Local who are interested in submitting their application for one (1) of these positions, please ensure they are provided with an electronic or printed copy of this Memorandum. In addition, we also request that the Memorandum be posted on the local union bulletin board as it may not be apparent members consider themselves or are members of an equity group. Also, please be aware of those who may be unable to read the Memorandum, for example those who have a visual impairment(s). For this reason, please verbally advise them directly of this Memorandum.
The applicant must complete the electronic application form available online and have same approved by their local president or her/his designate. The web link is as follows:

The deadline to receive the electronic application form is the close of business (EDT) Friday, November 14, 2014.
Those who wish to forward a printed application form can print same via the above link and forward the completed form via one (1) of the following methods:
