RE:

EAP Consultation Groups

Dear Sisters and Brothers:

At the last Presidents’ Conference, Brother Gaetz, Chairperson, Employee Assistance Program Committee, informed you that the EAP CRA National Office was conducting consultation groups.  You will find attached the related information on this matter.

As you may remember, the Employer has agreed for a Union representative to be present during the sessions, as an observer.  We are asking that the Local President be the person observing the session, however, if it is not possible, the Vice-President and after, another member of the Local Executive.  For these sessions, the Union representative “will be acting strictly as an observer”, as UTE has already had the opportunity to provide feedback on the program during the first part of the evaluation process.  The Union representative is there “to support the process from an observer perspective”.  Moreover, you cannot participate to the group consultation if you are a member of the Local Advisory Committee.

We have agreed with the Employer to provide the names of the Union representatives as soon as possible.  Please see on the next page, if your Local is one where a session is being held and contact Sister Paquette, Technical Advisor, EAP Committee, at (613) 235-6704 or by e-mail at paquetl@ute-sei.org  by April 24, 2009, with the information.
