1. Review of the previous minutes

The Committee reviewed both the Committee’s previous minutes and the minutes of the joint Committee from March 14, 2011.

2. Review Agenda for the afternoon joint Committee meeting

The agenda items are:

  1. Current Affected Employee list
  2. Preferred Status list
  3. Long Term Leave Without Pay Situations
  4. Cost Containment Plan (CCP)
  5. PSTAR- BC
  6. Regional and Local Committees

1)   Affected Employee list

There are currently 24 members in affected status.  The following is a breakdown per   region:

NCR 20 members
Atlantic 4 members
 
Sister Abbott will be discussing the regional list with each RVP at the upcoming Executive Council meeting.

2) WFA Preferred Status list

There is currently 1 member on the WFA Preferred Status list.

3) Long Term Leave Without Pay Situations

There are currently 4 affected members on long term leave.  We will continue to discuss   with the employer as to the best way to get these members off the affected list.

4) Cost Containment Plan (CCP)

The employer will be providing an update as to the status of the CCP

5) PSTAR – BC

The employer will provide us with an update plus we will be asking when the employer will announce that this is and ASD (Alternative Service Delivery Initiative) and comply with part VII of the Appendix. We will also ask when the employer will consider the ITB transfer to Shared Services Canada and ASD.

6) Regional and Local WFA Committees

UTE will reinforce that both Union and Management at the National level should be putting out the message to the field to start the process of activating Regional and Local WFA Committees, plus emphasis that offices in close proximity need to work together, for example, the three offices in Winnipeg, or locations such as Hamilton/St. Catharines or Charlottetown/Summerside.

3. WFA Presentation on Alternations

Brother MacDonald provided the Committee with a copy of the presentation he will be making on Alternations at the September 2011 Presidents’ Conference.

4. Committee Presentation at September Presidents’ Conference

The Committees discussed items that could part of the presentation at the 2011 September Presidents’ Conference.
