Employee Assistance Program

Report of the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Committee

June 2009

Doug Gaetz Item 11(d)

The Committee has not met since last Executive Council, however, on April 7, 2009; we participated in a conference call to discuss the roll out of the consultation groups.

Consultation Groups

The consultation groups were held in different regions in Canada and the Union was invited, as observer. The Union representatives were:

Scott Henneberry Ottawa H.Q.
Lynne Scott-Cadieux  Ottawa Policy/Planning
Valerie Vojnovic Sudbury TC
Randy McKeown Toronto West
Dawn Hardy  Summerside TC
Chris Diliberatore Halifax
Janet Albinet  Winnipeg
Wally Fandrich Calgary
Johann Ackermann  Surrey TC
Dave Miller  Penticton
Michel Désilets Shawinigan TC
Lise Pitt  Montérégie-Sud

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Union representatives for their collaboration.  CRA will share the outcome of the consultation groups at a later date.

UTE National EAP Committee – Questionnaire/Survey (Part I and Part II)

On April 29, 2009, UTE has sent out the UTE National EAP Committee – Questionnaire/Survey to all locals and we are getting good responses back.  Fifty-one (51) locals out of fifty-five (55) have replied to the Questionnaire/Survey.  The following Locals have not yet sent their Questionnaire/Survey:

20027 – Vancouver
50031 – Winnipeg TC
10007 – Sherbrooke
10028 – Laval

We are missing Part II of the Questionnaire/Survey from the following local:

00001 – Toronto East

Sister St-Aubin is inputting the information in Access.  This will facilitate the generation of reports.  When the compilation is finalized, the committee will meet to analyze the information and prepare a report for the Executive Council and the regions.

Training for LAC

The employer has developed a model for EAP network training for the Local Advisory Committee (LAC) and this has been rolled out in the Atlantic.  Our feedback will be shared with CRA National Advisory Committee at our next meeting.

Our next National meeting is scheduled for June 24, 2009 in Ottawa.

Respectfully submitted,

Doug Gaetz
Chair of the Committee
