The National EAP Advisory Committee met December 14, 2009 at our regularly scheduled meeting. Minutes have yet to be finalized but will be issued shortly and will be shared with Council, alternates, locals and LROs.

The UTE National EAP Committee met that same date and discussed items related to the upcoming National EAP Conference. The internal minutes have been shared and posted to the UTE’s web site.

The Final Report on the EAP Consultations held last year and dated November, 2009, has been shared with the unions, has been shared with Council, alternates, locals and LROs, and has been posted to the UTE’s web site and to InfoZone.

The Final Report was tabled February 10, 2010 with the Agency Management Committee.. It will also be on the agenda for the Board of Management’s next meeting scheduled for March 16, 2010.

I met with the Senior Labour Relations Advisor, Brother Shane O’Brien, and former Technical Advisor, Sister Lyson Paquette, as well as new Technical Advisor, Erik P. Gagné, to discuss changeover of roles.

I take this opportunity to welcome Erik to the Committee and write that the Committee is looking forward to a very productive working relationship with him.

On behalf of the Committee, I express our sincere appreciation to Sister Paquette for her contributions and hard work to the EAP Committee over the past couple of years. 

The next meeting of the National EAP Advisory Committee will be held June 2, 2010 in Ottawa
