REPORT OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

DECEMBER 2005

Betty Bannon Item 10

The topic of assisting the locals in collecting the fines from scabs was
referred to the Executive Committee.  Although the committee did not
meet in person a suggestion was looked at via e-mail.  The following
was adopted by the committee:

M/S/C  Kent MacDonald, Bob Campbell

Be it resolved that Local 00011 (Kingston) be used as a test case which
would help us to establish a National Policy on the issue of collecting
fines from Scabs;

Details:

The local would be responsible for all of the administrative costs and
the UTE National would cover the LWOP. The Local would need to inform
the President/1st VP regarding what time is needed and obtain prior approval
to have the leave reimbursed, ie:  LWOP if needed to file the Claim
and LWOP to attend court.

If the Local is successful in getting the collection of the fine, then
the LWOP would be reimbursed to UTE National and the Local would keep the
balance.

In Solidarity,

Betty Bannon,

Chair of the Committee
