REPORT OF THE NATIONAL HARASSMENT COMMITTEE

The Committee has not met since the last Executive Council March 2002.
After publishing the new policy, the employer updated the Harassment Awareness
Session – Instructor’s Manual. We were consulted and made comments,
which you will find attached.
The Manual stipulates that “This session is a joint union-management,
To ensure that we participate, we recommend that the regional vice-presidents
inform the employer at the regional level of our desire to participate
in all harassment awareness sessions. If you have any problems, please
contact Sister Paquette who will take the necessary measures.
For your information, the Manual specifies that “Since many offices
have given a similar awareness session on the previous harassment policy
in the past 2-3 years, priority for this updated awareness session should
be new managers and employees and managers and employees who have not had
recent exposure to a harassment information session.”
According to our spring 2002 survey, it has been more than two years since
several locals received training. Therefore, the timing is ideal to request
