1. August 9, 2012 UTE Harassment Committee Meeting

The Committee met on August 9, 2012.  As per the Executive Council decision of June 2012, the members of the Committee reviewed the UTE Guidelines on Union Intervention in Harassment Cases – Member against Member in the Workplace (Guidelines).  Please find below a recommendation to adopt the amended Guidelines.

For better understanding of the proposed changes, you will find attached (Annex 1) a table showing the official version the proposed amendments and rationales.

2. Statistics Form – Harassment Cases (Form)

This year, the Form was amended and improved.  It can now be completed on line. As of August 22, 2012,  UTE has received  replies  from the following locals:  00052 – Barrie;  20028 – Victoria; 20007 – Burnaby Fraser; 40022 – Regina;  00016 – St. Catharines; 30024 -  Calgary; 00013 – Toronto Centre; 20050 – Burnaby Fraser C.C.; 90006 – Summerside; 50031 – Winnipeg T.C.;  10005 – Shawinigan T.C.; 00008 – Peterborough; 20029 – Surrey T.C.; 20026 – Penticton; 00051 – Toronto West.  Locals have until September 23, 2012 to send their statistics.  Even though there were no harassment complaints, we would appreciate receiving a confirmation.

Recommendation #1

Whereas  the National Harassment Committee was tasked with reviewing the Guidelines on Union Intervention in Harassment Cases – Member against Member in the Workplace.

Be it resolved that the Guidelines on Union Intervention in Harassment Cases – Member against Member in the Workplace be adopted as amended.
