The Committee met February 29 and March 2, the minutes will be distributed when available. The Committee discussed the National Conference and how to structure the conference workshops. After much discussion the Committee agreed to send out a questionnaire that had already been developed to the workplace Committees. The results of this questionnaire will be reviewed by the Committee and a final determination will be made on the structure of the workshops and the topics for guest speakers. It will be imperative that ALL workplace Committees complete this questionnaire. This will be discussed at the Presidents Conference by the Committee.
The date of the National Conference is October 19 – 21, 2012 in Ottawa at the Chateau Laurier.
The Committee also discussed a health and safety award which was referred to the Committee by the National President. This issue will be discussed later during this Executive Council meeting.
As well, there was a National Health and Safety Policy Committee on March 1, attached is the agenda and the minutes will be distributed when available. At this meeting both co-chairs signed a Health and Safety Statement as well, a renewed Terms of Reference for the Committee were signed off.
