Sabri Khayat Item 11(a)
The Committee met on November 13th and 14th, 2008 in Ottawa and dealt with the twenty three (23) items on its agenda.
The Minutes, completed during the meeting, will be distributed as soon as they are translated.
As we announced previously, Sister Gardiner and Brother Brière completed the list of the “liaison” persons to communicate more effectively with our Locals. I thank them for their involvement, because as you know, it was not a small task.
I would also like to remind our RVP’s of the importance of their support, so that we can keep this list up to date.
The committee seeks the support of the Executive Council to remind our Locals of the importance of their cooperation, by communicating to us immediately any change in names and/or coordinates of these “liaison” persons.
Meeting with the CRA
The committee met with the CRA regarding our staffing concerns on November 14th, 2008, from 9:00 am till 12:00 pm.
A summary report of this meeting will be issued as soon as the information becomes available.
I will attend, with Sister Linda Cassidy, a meeting with TSDMB on November 26th, 2008 (As of the writing of this report the meeting has not yet occurred).
An update of that meeting will be provided during Council followed by a written update if required.
Task Force - Competency Consultant Role
As mentioned in our Staffing Committee Minutes (Item 7), we have been informed by the CRA that further to our participation in the Working Group that conducted a review of the role of the Competency Consultant and made recommendations in 2007, we are invited to take part in the task force responsible for designing the implementation of the group’s recommendations.
More information will be provided on this task force as soon as it becomes available.
In conclusion, I would like to thank the contribution of our Technical Adviser, Sister Linda Cassidy, and to thank warmly the new Co-Chair of the committee; Brother Shawn Bergeron, and the Presidents Representatives within the committee; Sister Madonna Gardiner and Brother Marc Brière for their involvement and support. It is greatly appreciated.
It's a real pleasure to work with such a wonderful team.
