Report of the Executive Committee
September 2021

Marc Brière

The Executive Committee met three times via videoconference on May 31st, June 1st and July 23, 2021.

At the May 31st and June 1st meetings, the topic on the agenda was Regulation No. 23 - Marguerite Stonehouse Memorial Scholarships (Labour College of Canada Scholarship).

We had to decide if UTE intends to offer a scholarship this year under Regulation No. 23.

Since the Executive Committee of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) has made the decision not to offer scholarships for this cycle and since UTE relies entirely on the PSAC to promote the College to our members, the UTE Executive Committee members, Brothers Cosimo Crupi, Adam Jackson, Doug Gaetz and myself, have unanimously decided not to offer Marguerite Stonehouse Memorial Scholarships (Labour College of Canada Scholarship) for said cycle. It is possible that UTE will offer a scholarship later this year if the situation is appropriate.

On July 23rd, at a meeting held after the adjournment of the 2021 Triennial Convention, the new UTE Executive Committee, consisting of Sister Kimberley Koch, Brothers Adam Jackson and Doug Gaetz, and myself, reconfirmed Brother Daniel Camara as Executive Assistant to the National President. The motion passed unanimously.

I would like to thank Brother Cosimo Crupi for his work on the Executive Committee over the past year and I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Sister Kimberley Koch as the Regional Vice Presidents' representative on the committee for the coming year.

Respectfully submitted,

Marc Brière
Chair of the Committee
