The Union of Taxation Employees (the UTE) is soliciting equity group members to represent the five (5) equity groups currently on the National Equal Opportunities Committee. We are seeking to satisfy five (5) positions for members representing the following groups: Women, Indigenous Peoples, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, 2 Spirit (LGBTQ+), Persons with Disabilities and Racially Visible Members. In addition, we will be selecting two (2) alternates for each position.
Each position will be for a duration of two and one half (2 ½) consecutive years. The duties, responsibilities and obligations of the Committee members are outlined in the Committee’s Terms of Reference, available online:

If you are aware of members in your Local who are interested in submitting their application for any of these positions, please ensure they are provided with an electronic copy of this Memorandum. In addition, we also request the widest distribution possible of the Memorandum. Also, please be aware of those who may be unable to read the Memorandum, for example those who have a visual impairment(s). In such instances, please verbally advise them directly of this Memorandum.
