Report of the Honours and Awards Committee

Cosimo Crupi

The Honours and Awards Committee met on October 5th, 2020 as well November 2-5th, 2020 via Microsoft Teams. Present for both meetings were Cosimo Crupi (Chair), Gary Esslinger (Co-Chair), Ken Bye (Co-Chair), Melanie Jessup (President’s Representative) and Louise Dorion (Technical Advisor).

The purpose of the October 5th meeting was to discuss the H&S award application received for the 2019 year. A recommendation for this award will follow later in the report as Recommendation #1.

The purpose of the November 2-5th meeting was to review the Scholarship applications received for the 2020 year and as well the application received for the ICA award for 2020.

Attached to the report you will find this year’s successful scholarship recipients. Also, the committee completed a quick review of this year’s process and have proposed to council Recommendation #2.

As for the ICA award, there were no student’s that applied for ICA this year, however there was a member, and the committee has unanimously selected Brother Giscard Fang from Montreal Local 10008.

Recommendation #1

Be it resolved that Executive Council approve the H&A’s Committee unanimous decision to award the AWARD OF MERIT IN THE FIELD OF HEALTH AND SAFETY - ELIZABETH

(BETTY) BANNON for the 2019 year to XXXXXXXXX from local XXXXXXXXXX.

Recommendation #2

Be it resolved that Executive Council approve the H&A’s Committee unanimous decision to name the second National Scholarship award as the Robert “Bob” Campbell National Scholarship”.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS 2020

*Chloe Blondin from S.W. Ontario was awarded the Quebec Region Scholarship.
