The Equal Opportunities Committee was called to action following the tragic death of George Floyd on May 25, 2020 that created a worldwide focus on anti-racism, particularly anti-Black racism. We were given a mandate by our National President to consult and engage with our members and to come up with some concrete actions to address racism, systemic bias, and discrimination at CRA and within the union.
Through email discussions and a virtual meeting in July, the Committee developed a survey which will be launched on the UTE website shortly. This survey will enable us to gather vital information to move forward with our mandate. Please ensure wide distribution of the survey once the details are released.
