The committee met via Microsoft Teams on the afternoon of May 26th. In attendance was Cosimo Crupi (Chairperson), Gary Esslinger (Co-Chair), Ken Bye (Co-Chair), Melanee Jessup (President’s Rep) and Louise Dorion (Technical Advisor).
The committee discussed several issues regarding the 2020 Scholarship Awards. The first issue was regarding a query received by a local asking if CPA (Certified Professional Accountant) was deemed to be considered an “institution of higher learning”. The committee therefore reviewed this issue and unanimously agreed that it did not meet the requirement under our Regulation 24.
The second issue that was discussed was if the committee would consider putting forward a recommendation to Executive Council in June to extend the deadline from June 15th, 2020. After discussion, the committee unanimously agreed to submit a recommendation and is listed below as Recommendation #1.
