Report of the Call Centre Committee

The Call Centre Committee met with Brother Shane O’Brien, UTE Senior Labour Relations Officer, and Jérôme Martel, Chair of the UTE Staffing Committee in Ottawa on November 20 and 21. The purpose of the meeting was to determine the best course of action to deal with our members dissatisfaction with CCART and the lack of consultation by the employer on the proposed changes to CCAAT.

It was decided that as this will now will be applied to all members in the Call Centre, not just for the rehire exercise, that it should be dealt with by the Call Centre Committee.

After two days of brainstorming approximately 50 questions have been developed and will form the first actions be taken. Future actions will depend on the responses received and the extent to which the employer consults with the committee in the future.
