The second of three Regional Equal Opportunities Conferences was held in Montreal from Nov 1-4, with participants from the Atlantic, Quebec, Montreal and National Capital Regions.
Although we did not experience the same technical difficulties we had in Calgary, we were challenged with many administrative issues. At approximately 85 participants, this is the largest of our three conferences and we had some issues with inadequate space. Not having all Committee Members in attendance was also very difficult, as well as our lack of bilingual members. Luckily several participants and RVPs were able to help us out – many thanks to Eddy Aristil and Brian Oldford.
Hopefully we have all the bugs ironed out and we are looking forward to our final Regional Conference in Toronto, Nov 29- Dec 2.
The Committee will begin work on the National Equal Opportunities Conference (scheduled for Oct 25-27, 2019) early in the new year. Overall the feedback has been positive and we will be taking the evaluations and lessons learned into consideration when planning the National Conference.
