The Conference for the Atlantic, Montreal, Quebec and National Capital Regions will be held in Montreal, Quebec.

DATES:             November 1-4, 2018

                           7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. – Registration
                           6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. – Hospitality reception (room: Imagination)
                           (To respect the diversity of the participants attending the Conference, no alcoholic beverages will be served in the hospitality suite.)

                           All registrations received after 23:59 EDT, September 18, 2018 will be denied.

THEME: “Awareness – Empowerment – Action”

The Conference objectives are:

  •       Embrace and understand equity issues; and
  •       Learn how to be change you want to see; and
  •       Go back to your local, share your knowledge and stand up!

The agenda is attached to this memorandum.

These objectives will be achieved through plenary sessions and workshops. This will be an opportunity for you to network with other equity group members and others.

FUNDING:

  • The UTE National will fund two (2) members per Local.
     
  • Funding will consist of:
    • Per Diem:  four (4) days (cheque sent to the participants); and
    • Hotel:  three (3) nights (paid directly by the UTE); and
    • Travel:  advance sent directly to the Local (2x Air Canada Economy Flex airfare); and
    • Family care allowance, if required; and
    • Loss of salary

Note: Participants are reminded that we have guaranteed a specific number of hotel rooms for Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  In return for this guarantee, the hotel has agreed to waive the cost of meeting rooms.  As a result, participants are expected to attend all sessions of the Conference and not cancel the hotel room or alter the arrangements.  In the event of an emergency that could affect the hotel room or arrangements, please contact your RVP. If a participant does not attend all sessions of the Conference, they will waive their per diem for each day they are not attending a session.

PARTICIPANTS:

  •  The conference is intended for UTE members who have limited or no knowledge / experience of equity issues. We strongly encourage Locals to fund other interested participants.
