Tracy Marcotte was awarded the Award of Merit in the Field of Health and Safety - Elizabeth (Betty) Bannon

Tracy Marcotte received the Award of Merit in the Field of Health and Safety – Elizabeth (Betty) Bannon during the virtual Presidents’ Conference in September 2021. The presentation was made by Cosimo Crupi, Chair of the Honours and Awards Committee.

Tracy was nominated by the Sudbury local where she had been instrumental in shaping the work done by the Occupational Health and Safety Committee. Her strong leadership and passion for health and safety were vital in forging a culture where the wellbeing of the membership is at the forefront. Recently, during the early days of COVID-19, Tracy's leadership and guidance ensured that employee safety was a priority by developing guidelines and directions for the building as the Sudbury Taxation Centre was one of the few offices did not close.

Over the course of Tracy’s many years spent devoted to the Health and Safety, she has been involved with many different sub-groups, has been elected employee co-chair of the local committee, was elected to the position of Presidents' Representative on the UTE National Health and Safety Committee, and is now a Regional OSH Officer working for CRA in Ottawa.
