Update on UTE-PSAC Bargaining with CRA

Sisters, Brothers and Friends,

Despite the fact that we have commenced strike action and notwithstanding that the CRA has still not received a mandate from Treasury Board with respect to job security or remote/telework, we continue to exchange proposals concerning other matters affecting our members.

The CRA tabled through the mediator who was assigned to the parties its position on wages, similar to that proposed by the Public Interest Commission for the PA Group. We have signaled loudly to the employer that this economic package is far below inflation and is unacceptable to our members.

By now, you will have also received a communique announcing a decision of UTE’s Executive Council to provide a top-up on strike pay for UTE members.

In the days to come, both the PSAC and UTE will be escalating our job actions with a view to increasing pressure on the employer to table a fair and reasonable proposal. As you have done so far, we will be asking you to continue to support the efforts of your bargaining team.

Further information concerning these activities will be provided to you in the immediate future.

The UTE-PSAC bargaining team remains in Ottawa pending further bargaining sessions with the employer.

We thank you once again for your activity and support in this fight.

In Solidarity,
