Support Your bargaining team: Wear black on Wednesday, September 16

Sisters, Brothers and Friends,

On Wednesday, September 16, wear black to show your support for our bargaining team and the ongoing fight for a fair collective agreement. Whether you're in the workplace, attending meetings, or working remotely, your participation helps demonstrate the strength and unity of UTE members across the country.

This act of solidarity sends a clear message to the employer: we stand together in support of fair wages, better working conditions, and the respect we deserve. The more members who participate, the stronger our collective voice becomes.

Calling all locals: Take the Black Shirt Wednesday photo challenge!

Together, we are challenging every UTE local to help make Wednesday, September 16, a show of solidarity across the country. Gather your colleagues, wear black, and show your support for our bargaining team in a photo!

Working remotely? A virtual group photo counts too!

Send your photos to communications@ute-sei.org and include your local number and city. We would like to feature participating locals on the UTE website to show our collective support for a fair collective agreement. Before submitting, please make sure everyone pictured agrees to having their photo published on our website.

Every local counts. No matter the size of your group, your participation will help make our solidarity visible. We’re counting on you!

Mark your calendar for the next day of action: Wednesday, October 21, 2026.

In solidarity,
