Letter to the Commissioner of Revenue, Mr. Bob Hamilton

Mr. Bob Hamilton
Commissioner of Revenue

Commissioner Hamilton,

I am writing to you to advise that on June 2, 2014, I advised your predecessor, Andrew Truesch, that the Union of Taxation Employees had withdrawn from all National Union-Management Consultation Committee meetings with the CRA; and again on May 25, 2015, that that Union of Taxation Employees had withdrawn from any and all national, regional and local joint committees and consultations with the CRA. Both of these actions were deemed necessary due to the deteriorating state of our negotiations, and both were to remain in force until a collective agreement was approved and signed by the parties.

As you are aware, the Public Service Alliance of Canada / the Union of Taxation Employees and the Canada Revenue Agency officially signed an agreement applicable to the Program Delivery and Administrative Services Group, effective from November 1, 2012 to October 31, 2016 on October 25, 2016. Consequently, this letter will serve to notify the CRA that the Union of Taxation Employees will return to joint consultations and committees at all levels immediately.

We sincerely hope and trust that we can return to the harmonious and productive joint labour relationship that we once enjoyed and that was, indeed, a model for the entire Canadian public service.

Sincerely,

Robert Campbell's signature
Robert Campbell, National President
