Black History Month

The origins of Black History Month can be traced to 1926, when Harvard-educated black historian Carter G. Woodson founded   Negro History Week to celebrate the history, contributions and culture of African-Americans. The month of February was been designated as Black History month to showcase the achievements of Blacks in North America.
