RE: Guidelines for Developing Terms of Reference for Local and Regional Employment Equity / Diversity Committees
Our UTE Equal Opportunities Committee strongly supports local and regional joint Employment Equity / Diversity committees. We believe that consultation and collaboration should take place at all levels of our union.
To this effect, we have revised the previous proposed terms of reference. The new “Guidelines for Developing Terms of Reference for Local and Regional Employment Equity / Diversity Committees” are more specific and give clearer directions to the locals.
Please take advantage of this document to either help you form a committee or ameliorate the role and responsibilities of your existing committee. We ask that you share this bulletin with the employment equity / diversity activists in your local.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact the members of our Equal Opportunities committee (list is below).
