Re: 2008 Convention Schedule
Recently the National Office staff and I have been receiving many telephone calls regarding details of the upcoming 2008 Convention to be held in Vancouver, B.C. from July 16th to 19th. Thus, this bulletin has been prepared to help answer some of the questions. The following is a summary of some of the important dates of events leading up to and during the Convention.
|Friday March 21st:||Deadline for Convention Committee delegate names
Deadline for Resolutions
|Friday April 4th:||Deadline for names of Delegates and Observer/Alternates|
|May 9th to 11th:||Convention Committees|
|Sunday July 13th:||Council is scheduled to arrive|
|Monday July 14th:||Executive Council Supper|
|Tuesday July 15th:||Council meeting in the AM
Delegates and observers are scheduled to arrive
Registration from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
National President’s Wine and Cheese in the evening
|Wed. July 16th:||Convention opens with Plenary Session
Fun Night organized by the Host Committee
|Thursday July 17th:||Plenary Session
Banquet and Dance in the evening
|Friday July 18th:||Plenary Session|
|Saturday July 19th:||Plenary Session in the morning
Elections and close of Convention in the afternoon
|Sunday July 20th:||All participants are scheduled to go home|
It is expected that the travel advances will be sent to the locals around the end of May the beginning of June.
